It shoots very accuartely and to point of aim with 185 grain Hornady 'critical defense' rounds. I did however, show a tendency to "hang up" badly, I assume because of the type of bullet. I was using Chip McCormick "power mags." The balance, style, power, and accuracy of this gun though is really nice! I think I'll switch to purely ball ammo and give it another try. I do believe I'll seek another like her. hsc

I tried the Chip mags again with FMJ and STILL HAVE THE PROBLEM. So I tried a friend's Wilson mags and PROBLEM SOLVED. The Chip's worked in his 1911 though so I'll keep them....ordered 3 Wilson Combat mags last night. hsc

Never had any problems with one, and never really noticed a need for more than standard capacity mags, really. Always have two spares on me when carrying, though. Tom Ne Desit Virtus Rakkasans

Posts: 290 Dec 11 12 6:47 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	Personal preference, but I use older USGI or Colt mags ONLY in my 1911, and have never had any feed problems at all. I have used a variety of aftermarket mags including Chips and they have not performed nearly as well for me as the old ones. Molinas are really nice guns - good find. mark

Even ball ammo was hanging up in the Chip mags.... I ordered 3 WC mags for the Ballestar Molina but am yet to test those. I would like to have more BM's though..... hsc

Posts: 3005 Apr 20 13 9:45 AM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	Ballisters are very ammo tolerant, much more so than a GI 1911A1. All my Molinas and Rigauds function 100% with the surplus USGI 1911 mags from the Vietnam era. Each came with 3 mags from Century and about 1/3 of the original mags had lips too badly worn to work.
