FN 49 problems |

Years ago I bought an Egyptian FN49. To date, I've had two catastrophic failures. Fixed the first one, cost me more than I paid for it. Took it to the range, after 4 rounds downrange, Kaboom. I haven't repaired it yet. I did take it to a gunsmith early this year for an estimate. His report was it wasn't 8mm barrel but a 7mm. (?) Also, said the action was bent and not repairable. I find this hard to believe but haven't taken it for a second opinion. I do know the mag has bulged but doubt the action is actually bent. Anyone have similar experience with an 8mm FN49? BTW, very exciting rifle to shoot!
