But, it's sealed in metal and I don't want to tear it open just to see what it is??? Here's the stenciling on the box... (In places I put commas, commas are what was used on the stencil. The alphabet is exactly what was used on the case.) Being 7.62, I was thinking that it was 7.62x54 for Mosin-Nagants. 800 ............................ Ok, the # of rounds. Got that. 7,62 - 59 .................... No typo. That I do not understand. 24kg .......................... Ok, the weight. Got this too. Nctp 1,2x0,4/1,2KFmm (not sure about the small case "mm" it was smeared.) Anybody have any idea what this is?!??? On Ted's site, there's an ammo section I seem to have missed previously. It describes a Czech round "Type 59" as steel core light ball. That may be what I have. Posts: 1229 Nov 20 12 11:03 AM Veteran member Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	The 800 round case that I had was stenciled on the side....MG08 (or 1910, cant remember) 1891..1891/30 ,M38,.... was steel cased and sticky bolt lift. Posts: 114 Nov 26 12 9:05 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	back in the old times ( 2003-04 ) i was buying this from a vendor on two other gun forums for the price of 40 dollars for a 800 round box, one of the boxes was open and had 1960s czech silvertip and 1980s czech copperwashed 7.62x54R ammo. headstamp should be aym or bxn which is actually the company Sellier & Belliot, 20 rd boxes should be pale blue in color. Nctp: Nitro-cellulose Powder description...Tubular Powder dimensions in mm. 800 round case is standard for Czech usage; if 780, then the importer has either removed some (?Tracer?) or it was a "short case" for some reason.( Testing, inspection, etc).
