Posts: 19 Dec 5 12 8:23 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	Tags : None Hey fellas, A co-worker asked me to help find a replacement military configuration stock for his bubba'd lee-enfield. First, is there differences in the models like #3 or #4 etc? Where would he find the model number? Where can he get a replacement stock? I don't think he's going for collector value with it, from his description it's pretty rough from being stored in his in-laws shed for a decade or so. If any of you know where to get an Arisaka M38 firing pin he's looking for one of those also. From what I gather, these were WWII bring home rifles from the Pacific.

Posts: 1920 Dec 6 12 11:31 AM Veteran member Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	the explanation of the diferences is not overly complicated if you have the item in front of you , but in words it can seem so to the novice , may i suggest you ask him to sit down with you here and compare these photos with what he has ? it would be wonderfull to see photos , we could easily help you avoid costly misstakes often associated in a novice embarkment on this project , we commend him and you on undertaking the process and will help in any way possible , the stock furniture is not interchangeable between the two , but both styles of stock and the metal bits required are readily findable , they are not too costly and its admirable to restore these old rifles , as stated its most likely a common no1 rifle , or an equally common no4 rifle , but some of the most remarkable rare finds come from long forgottens stored in sheds and such , in the simplest of terms here is the differance ..... this is a no1 rifle - its marked on the right wrist [metal band at rear of trigger] with mfrg and date generally as well as mark [read as model number] - most common is a mkIII* , you will not the rear sight is located on the barrel in fron of the bolt action body , this is a no4 rifle , the markings are found on the left reciever or left wrist band , the rear sight is located on top of the receiver near the back of the bolt action body , In these times 'I'll keep my God, my freedom, my gun and my money. Anyone that supports this insanity can keep "THE CHANGE".

I'll show him these pictures at work tomorrow and ask him to give me some pictures or write down the relevant info. He still has the stock disk on the bubba'd original, which adds to the history of the rifle. A square 10 those are some fantastic looking number 4's. If they weren't .303 I'd love to have one. I'll have to stick with my Garand and 03A3.
