MY 24/47 has been disassembled and in the original box for about five years.I got it from classic back when very good graded examples were $139.Today I'm starting on a pure tong oil finish with the first couple of coats thined with MS.I'm leaning strongly toward leaving the replacement handguarg just as it is.Will this be a mistake? Is there a simple way to make the two pieces match better? I just don't think I'm willing to go to some of the extremes I've read about, but I'd like a nice outcome just the same...thoughts?
