four rifles...one bullet?

Posts: 12 Dec 16 12 9:37 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	Tags : None I'm thinking hard about handloading.I just realized that four of my long arms are the same caliber,Tula SKS, Bulgy AK, Enfield #4, and 1909 Argentine Mauser are all .311.How would they all shoot using new 124 grain bullets designed for the AK? I realize the bullets may be hard to find....thoughts? Rob

Posts: 2473 Dec 16 12 11:02 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	A 124 grain bullet should shoot just fine in all those different rifles. That is shoot just fine. Accuracy should be reasonable, but I wouldn't expect (but would gratefully accept) tack driving accuracy. All those different rifles have a different twist rate for the particular bullet weight of the original military round. So, again shooting them is just fine, but it won't be optimum in my opinion. I've always liked the "biggest throw weight" I could launch from a particular caliber, so I should of thought of that. I think I need to spend some more time with the 7.62x39.
