Hey y'all I'm brand new to the forum. I just acquired a rifle from my uncle recently which belonged to his brother that passed away from leukemia. I've looked at the first thread n found the symbols n such but I still donno how to determine the value. Basically I don't think it's worth much because whoever had it before my uncle modified it. It's been bored to a 30.06 caliber and the bolt handle has been bent down. The only thing I've done to it is take it apart and oil it down good, n cleaned it some. So what I wanted to figure out is if the gun is worth anything other than sentimental value. If it's not that valuable, I was thinking about doing a refinish job on it and mounting a scope to make a deer rifle out of it. That's what my uncle wanted it for anyway. Here are a few pics.
