‘'Rapid Fire Shoot'’ Shooting Match

Location: Albuquerque Shooting Range Park
50 – 500 Meter / 300 – 1,000 Yard Range

Ranges / Positions at which the Match is to be shot at:
200 Meters: Prone / Unsupported
Note:
The position the shooter will be shooting at will be Prone / Unsupported which means that you will be shooting your firearm without the usage of sand bags, front rests, or anything that allows it to be supported in any way other than your hands or elbows. No back rest or bags are allowed to be used to support the buttstock at any time. Shooters may use a slip-on type recoil pad on the buttstock or the shoulder for those who are sensitive to recoil.

Targets to be Used:
The target that will be used will be a 29” wide round, ½” steel plate which will simulate the NRA High Power SR – Military “Target, Rifle, Competition, Short Range” minus the 5 Ring.
Note:
The target will be painted solid black with a white 10” circle in the center of the target which be used as a reference as to where the hits on the target accrued.

Scoring / Rounds per Course of Fire:
10 rounds will be fired during the course of fire in which you will start with 5 rounds, reload by either changing your magazine or by using chargers/stripper clips and then firing your last 5 remaining rounds in 80 seconds or less.* Those using United States Rifle, Caliber .30, M1 ‘Garand’ rifles will allowed to use either two 5 round en-blocs or one 8 round and one 2 round en-bloc for the course of fire. No sighting-in rounds will be allowed to be fired, you will be expected to know exactly where your firearm will shoot at this distance. A direct hit on the target will be scored as one point; a miss will be scored as a zero. All hits or misses will be confirmed by the use of a spotter.
Note:
We will be breaking down into two shooting groups of two person each at the 200 meter firing line position to fire at two separate targets at 200 meters. Both people of the group will start standing up, at the command ‘Fire’ the first person of the group will drop down to the prone / unsupported position firing his allotted rounds in 80 seconds or less, after he has completed this he will then tell his partner to ‘Fire’ and then he does the same as the first person firing his rounds down range in 80 seconds or less. *Those who are physically are unable to drop down to the prone position from standing will allowed to start in the prone position but only will be allotted 70 seconds to fire his rounds on target.
No ‘Alibi’ (unused) rounds will allowed to be fired if you cannot get all 10 rounds off during your allotted 70 or 80 seconds. Please be sure to know how to reload your firearm properly and efficiently or else you might have a tough time getting your shots off in the allotted time.
This match usually goes pretty fast so if you want to go through the course of fire twice or more, please be sure to bring enough ammunition to do so or bring other firearms with enough ammunition for each weapon to do the course of fire.

Firearms to be Used:
The firearms that can be used in this match must be all unmodified, originally as-issued configured service military rifles that were or still are being issued in the world’s standing armies that were issued to the ‘ordinary soldier’ that used them.
The sights on the firearms must be as-issued ‘iron sights’ that were standard to the firearms being used which does not include NRA/DCM/CMP National Match, European Shooting Match, aftermarket, target type, match adjustable or micrometer sights as these were not issued to the ordinary soldier.
Scoped military ‘Sniper’ rifles that are to be used in this match must be military used, period, as-issued mounts and optics or cloned copies of the original type mounts or optics, once again no NRA/DCM/CMP National Match, European Shooting Match aftermarket type mounts or optics are allowed.
Please remember our club mission is the shooting of firearms that the ordinary soldier would have been issued.
