It's a bo model; bo= bez-oznake- meaning "unmarked" configured as a model "B" meaning it was manufactured after 1956 for export though, it undoubtedly never was. Darn nice one. One thing to be aware of, since it appears unissued it may, probably, has not been shot since it was proof fired. That means with a new barrel it could be a little inconsistent at first. Don't expect to much until you've put about 200 rounds through it then it should settle down and do some serious shooting for you. Posts: 8 Dec 27 12 5:29 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	I agree the pictures are terrible. I work with a fellow who was in the Yugoslavian Army, in 1974 he was issued a M48. He said he loved that rifle, very accurate. Later he was issued an AK47, he hated it. He said it would never hold a tight pattern. From the look of the riflings, it has not been used much at all. I paid little too much ($425) but it is so nice I just had to have it. I knew if I didn't buy it would been one of those things that would haunt me. They also had a beautiful K98 but could not afford $800 at this time.

You have nothing to regret and like you said, you likely would have regretted passing on it. We've all been there. Myself, I still kick myself for passing on a Polish wz29 to buy an M59-66 A1sks. Like iamapilot2.... I would have gotten home and been mad as hxll at myself for not buying int!! A sweet M48 these days is hard to find.... Dunno...I am glad he bought it. I happy he is not going into the new year upset with himself he did 'splurge' on himself. Classic has M24/47's, hand select, matching numbers, bent bolt, (Bent by them) delieverd for a slick $350, so the $425 is that caustic....Yes? Nose Dive. Cheap, Fast, Good. Kindly pick two. Posts: 232 Jan 5 13 11:15 AM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	Well... Good thing is you can pick up some MILSURP ammo now in 8MM.... I would stay away from the IRANINA stuff as it really is poor. About 30% or so misfires and Hang fires.... Check Ammoman...AIM J&G SARCO...check around on the web. It is sooo cheap. But, When I hunt, I use my reload. It means a trip to the range to reset point of impact, but a good hunter does that before he goes to the field anyway. And, there a bucket full of bullet styles and weights.... Just be careful..go slow...follow the instructions and don't over or under load your rounds. It's fun and I'm always pleased with the reloaded rounds performance. Be sure after shooting MILSURP stuff you do a hot ammonia water clean up on the bore. The old primers use a mercuric base ignitor and this forms a mild acid that sets up in the bore. Just a bit of brushing with the ammonia water and it zaps it. Then some Hoppes and brushing and swabbing and a bit of oil on a patch...and your done! easy enough. Nose Dive Cheap, Fast, Good. Kindly pick two. PS...better get the ammo now while you can still get it through the mail. OBAMA/BIDEN want to stop mail delivery of ammo to us.

Posts: 8 Jan 5 13 7:07 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	Was able to shoot the Mauser today, very pleased with it. Bolt cycles nicely, spent brass shells good condition, no markings. Did not have any proper targets to verify pattern but I did break 3 clays at 100 yards, eight try's Today was dark snowy winter day, I had a hard time lining up the sights. Did get two hits on the 12" steel gongs at 200 yards. Been studying by reloading text book, picked up powder and primers today, should get the rest of the loading equipment next week. My son just purchased 640 rounds of Milsurp 7.62x54 for his Mosin Nagaunt. Got it from AIM, their just a few miles away. I did read about the poor quality of that Iranian 8mm stuff, decided to pass on it. No telling what those Washington fools are going to try.

Posts: 8 Jan 13 13 5:23 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	Today shot 30 rounds of reloaded 8mm, very happy with everything. Today was the third trip to the range with this Mauser, only complaint is the hooded front sight. That's is a unique feature and I will need to deal with it. All three range trips were on a dark winter day, hooded sight is tough to see an align correctly since the front blade is shadowed. I did paint the back of the front sight fluorescent green and the rear of the back sight fluorescent orange. This did help today until heavier clouds moved in and things got a even darker. Maybe yellow on the front will be better. Using acrylic hobby paints, completely harmless. I know the front hood is easily removed but still going to keep it on.
